Medog County of Nyingchi City, southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region, is located in the core area of Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, with unique climate and rich resources. In recent years, 147 kinds of wild animals and 144 kinds of wild plants under national key protection, and new species and genera have been discovered in Medog. In December, the first Medog Gutang Birdwatching Invitational Competition of Ant Forest came to a successful conclusion.

This competition recruited and invited 12 teams from 13 provinces, cities and autonomous regions, including Beijing, Guangdong, Fujian, Sichuan, Jiangsu and Chongqing, with 37 members conducting birdwatching survey in Gutang Town.
